CFP for MLA 2023: The Ecology of the Community College Classroom

Asao B. Inoue states, “ecology is always a reference to the political (or power) relations between people and their environments, between people in environments” (Antiracist Writing Assessments 81). We invite papers that examine academic ecologies between different classrooms, between the classroom and the larger college, between the classroom and the outside environment/community, between the students and professor, between the students and the administration, between professors and the administration, between students and the outside environment/community, between professors and the outside environment/community, or any other existing ecology related to the community college environment. These ecologies could relate to working conditions, environmental hazards, interpersonal relationships, pedagogical philosophies, or other possible ecologies not imagined here.

    Deadline: March 15, 2022.

Contact me, the MLA HEP Community College Executive Committee Chair, at grisel.acosta@bcc.cuny.edu with any questions or submissions.
