Dear MLA members and 18th century enthusiasts,

You are invited to attend the 18c French Forum dinner on Saturday, January 6th at 8:00pm.

The dinner will take place at Caribou Café (1126 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107), which is a short walk from the PA Convention Center and the Downtown Marriott.  The chef, Olivier Desaintmartin (you might remember him if you’ve seen the show, Chopped), mixes flavors from across France, Europe, and beyond. You can read more about him and about Caribou Café here (http://www.cariboucafe.com/about.html).  Chef Olivier is proposing the following menu for us on January 6th at a price of $50.00 per person (I believe tax and tip are included; however, wine is not): MENU
    choice of one:
Warm Goat Cheese Spinach salad, Balsamic dressing
Smoked salmon arugula salad, lemon olive oil dressing
Pâté du Chef, mixed greens and celery root rémoulade
    ***
10oz NY Strip, shallot butter sauce, frites and Provencal tomato
Norwegian Salmon with pomme purée, vegetables, truffle sauce
Breast of Amish chicken “Wellington” with spinach, Bordelaise sauce
Pappardelle with wild mushrooms and asparagus, truffle sauce
    ***
Chocolate Soufflé Cake with caramel center
    Cappuccino cheesecake

Please send an email to Logan Connors (logan.connors@miami.edu) as he needs to confirm an exact head count for the chef. Please let him know before December 22nd if you will be joining them.

    Warm regards, Sarah.
