The frame of literacy studies, a subject of complex research across many disciplines, has long offered Rhetoric, Composition, and Writing Studies (RCWS) both a focus of research and a methodological foundation. As such, RCWS scholars have contributed, and continue to contribute, significantly to broadening the field of inquiry related to literacies as social practice.

The RCWS Literacy Studies Forum invites proposals for presentations at MLA 2017 encompassing the processes and practices of any forms of reading and writing, whether print-, media-, or image-based and situated in a wide range of political, social, economic, linguistic, educational, and cultural contexts.

Please submit 1-page abstracts by March 15, 2016 to Suzanne Blum Malley (sbmalley@colum.edu). Presenters must be MLA members by April 1, 2015.
