Most famous barbecue:  Franklin’s, but you stand in line for 2 hours https://franklinbarbecue.com

Closest good Mexican food (designer): http://www.manuels.com  – couple blocks from convention center

For breakfast:  breakfast tacos, if you don’t know them, try them.  most original ones:   Torchy’s Tacos http://torchystacos.com/location/ut/  Just north of UT campus;  will need a bus.  Other locations exist.

Hi all,

I created a map for Austin downtown area. In the map, you will find places for food and drinks near Austin Convention Center, and the convention hotels. I also included a layer for nearby B-cycle stations and some of the good restaurants in the downtown area.

For those of you who would like to learn more about Austin, here is a comprehensive Austin guide in the form of an interactive magazine that Austin Convention Center created.
