Zainab Cheema is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin. She is working on a dissertation project on the early modern Mediterranean, focusing on the flows of texts and bodies from Iberia to North Africa following the Spanish Reconquista. She holds an MA degree from the University of California at Irvine where she specialized in critical theory, visual studies, and race studies.
