I suggest an emendation of some of Marlowe’s verses in his tragedy of “Hero and Leander”, published in 1598 as if an “unfinished Tragedy”. The point of my emendation is to develop an approach to an understanding of what Shakespeare has to say about Marlowe’s “Hero and Leander”. For examples in Sonnet 117 Shakespeare tells Henry something about Marlowe’s denouement in “Hero and Leander” and Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” made “more agreeable”, “By this hand, it will not kill a fly” is as in compare to the treatment of Marlowe’s “Hero and Leander” published in 1598 “Desunt nonnulla”, post line 818, to the “gentle aire” of Walsingham’s “liking”..
