I am a professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Kentucky. I am interested in Chinese and East Asian cultural studies, the international avant-garde, folklore and mythology, propaganda and popular culture, among other things. I am the author of The Avant-Garde and the Popular in Modern China (Michigan, 2014) and The Global White Snake (Michigan, 2021). Education
