I am an assistant professor joint appointed to Gender and Women’s Studies and English at Pomona College. I work on nineteenth-century U.S. literature, food, eating and racial formations. I have published in Callaloo, The Journal of Food, Culture and Society and Gastronomica. My almost-completed manuscript is called Racial Indigestion: Eating Bodies in the Nineteenth Century United States.
