AboutLauren Gaskill is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish language, literature and visual culture in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Fairfield University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine in Spanish with an emphasis in Visual Studies. While completing her dissertation on photography in Latin American literature, Gaskill began a film and photography practice and has experienced firsthand the value of creative engagement with texts to complement traditional classroom skills such as close textual analysis.
