About

Christopher Lupke is Professor of Chinese Cultural Studies in the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Alberta. The focus of his research is modern Chinese, Taiwanese, and Sinophone literature and cinema. His books have included a study of the auteur filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien, contemporary Chinese poetry, and world literature. His recently published translation of Ye Shitao’s 葉石濤 monumental work A History of Taiwan Literature 台灣文學史綱 (Cambria, 2020) won the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for a book-length translation of a scholarly work.
