Please forgive this graceless appeal. The Israel resolution (Right to Enter) that I co-sponsored with Dick Ohmann is now being voted on. I think it’s a moderate and necessary gesture of support for our Palestinian and Arab colleagues who, though US citizens, have been denied entry to the West Bank to teach, do research, lecture, or attend conferences and have otherwise been harassed in a variety of ways. The evidence of such harassment is overwhelming; it includes an advisory on the US State Department website. Voting ends at midnight on Sunday. I hope you will take a minute to look it over and if you approve, vote in favor and even tell your friends to do the same.
