Democracy has long been a key concern for United States literary and cultural studies. In the last two decades alone, critics have explored this political form in relation to death, deliberation, interiority, spectacle, and spectrality. This roundtable brings together a diverse group of scholars to reflect on recent theories and to suggest directions for future work.
