A Panel Sponsored by the Association of Departments and Programs in Comparative Literature

What is the “tipping point” that makes a scholarly argument persuasive? This panel combines the sharing of scholarly interests and discoveries that are the purpose of conventions with a pragmatic aspect of rehearsing the mechanics of comparative persuasion. It will consist of lecture-demonstrations that each leads the audience through a single published article that the presenter finds exemplary and important for their own work. The goal is to show how an article can make a convincing and important comparative argument.
