Teaching as a Profession is one of only three forums classified as “HEP,” or Higher Education and the Profession. The focus of our forum is on the intersection of criticality and classroom practice as it informs pedagogy across fields and approaches. We invite diverse voices to engage in these conversations, both during our convention panels and here on the Commons. The work that this forum does to examine, address, and engage with the issues that educators face today is essential to both the MLA and the scholarly community at large.

Columbus State Community College is hiring two full-time TT positions in English.

I hope you will consider Columbus State in your search or share our posting with colleagues.

This is a great time to join the college with a cohort of focused hires targeted for our 2021 faculty searches. The Ohio Department of Higher Education has recently developed diversity, equity and inclusion guidelines for the state; Columbus State has recently hired a new Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer; and the college has been selected to participate in The Achieving the Dream and USC Race and Equity Center Racial Equity Leadership Academy.

The English Department is particularly interested in candidates with experience teaching courses that address issues of race and ethnic diversity.
