Hello, everyone! I am honored to have been nominated as a candidate for the forum on HEP Part-time and Contingent Faculty Issues and I wanted to briefly introduce myself before MLA voting opens this week. As a Spanish instructor and contingent employee, I have been a “freeway flier” and “roads scholar” traveling among institutes of higher learning in the San Francisco Bay Area. For the past three years I have been an active member of the MLA Committee on Contingent Labor in the Profession and served as CLIP chair from 2019-2020. I’m excited about the opportunity to continue being involved as a representative of precarious faculty and supporting colleagues as a member of the forum.
