Hello, everyone! I’ve been nominated for a seat on the Executive Committee of the LLC Puerto Rican Forum Panel, so I’d like to tell you a little about myself. My research interests include nineteenth and twentieth century Latin American and Caribbean Literature; Women’s Writing; Psychoanalysis and Autobiography. My publications include Malady and Genius; Self-Sacrifice in Puerto Rican Literature (2016), Remembering Maternal Bodies (2006), Subjects of Crisis: (2000), Noir Anxiety (Co-authored with Kelly Oliver 2003), as well as two edited collections: Kristeva’s Fiction (2014) and Foucault and Latin America (2002). I have published articles in scholarly journals such as Hispanic Review, Revista Hispánica Moderna, Cultural Studies, MLN, Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, and Revista Iberoamericana. And I have served the profession through committees like this one at MLA. I am a member of the editorial board of Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, Dissidences and the Hispanic Journal of Theory and Criticism. And I have served my community as a member of the board of directors of the Luis A Ferré Foundation and of the Ponce Museum of Art in Puerto Rico. I also sat on the education council of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville. I am currently DGS at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Vanderbilt University. Thanks very much for your time and attention, and I hope to “see” you at the Convention in January!
