Walk Poems: Moving Through America on Foot

NeMLA’s 46th Annual Conference in Toronto, Ontario, April 30 through May 3, 2015

Deadline for Submission: September 30, 2014

This panel seeks papers on the ways in which American poets write about walking and the significant role the walk poem has played in American literature. What is it about the walk poem that suits American poets so well? How can a walk poem capture the American spirit (or, rather, an aspect of that spirit)? What role has the walk poem played in the development of American poetics? Abstracts of 300-500 words must be submitted through the NeMLA web site. The direct link to the session page is https://nemla.org/convention/2015/cfp.html#cfp15161. If you have not created a user profile for NeMLA, you must do that first at http://www.nemla.org before submitting your proposal.

    Hi Wendy,

Can I repost this CFP to the Poetics List 2.0 (http://poeticslist.chicagoschoolofpoetics.com)? I think it would be a good opportunity for list members.

    Best,

    Francesco

Ok, done. It went out to the list’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts as well.

    Best,

    Francesco
