What would you assign in English to give 100-level gen ed students a broad yet critical (think Howard Zinn’s People’s History)  overview of medieval Iberian cultural history? I have good material for Latin America and Modern Spain, but nothing for premodernity (or whatever you want to call it). Thanks! David

    Hi David,

I have never taught a gen ed course, but the book I use for my Hispanic Studies students is Bernard Reilly’s The Medieval Spains. Cambridge UP, 1993. There may be something newer out, though.

    Saludos,

    María W.
