The MLA International Bibliography is an online database that covers literature, language and linguistics, folklore, film, literary theory and criticism, dramatic arts, as well as the historical aspects of printing and publishing. Listings on rhetoric and composition and the history, theory and practice of teaching language and literature are also included.

The introductory tutorial video “What is the MLA International Bibliography?” is now available in Japanese as 『MLA国際文献目録』とは何か? You can view the Japanese video and other bibliography tutorials from the following webpage:

    https://www.mla.org/Publications/MLA-International-Bibliography/Tutorial-Videos

The bibliography contains citations to scholarly works in more than 60 languages, including Japanese, and it is also searchable using Japanese and other non-Roman scripts. Currently, we cover more than 100 periodicals published in Japan, and we are continually adding new titles.

If there are Japanese publications not in the bibliography that you would want to see covered, please send in your recommendation to periodicals@mla.org
