Hello, Gothlings! MLA 2023 is in just a few weeks, and we have badge ribbons to distribute at the convention–attend our panels or run up to me, Leah Richards, at any point to get yours. It’s like a secret handshake, only not secret, no touching, and hanging from your badge. We also have several Gothic Studies events and items of interest on which to update you.

    First, our panels:

#51, World Gothic, featuring papers from Lana Krys, Mark Deggan, Melissa Etzler, and Mariangela Ugarelli, is on Thursday at 1:45p in Moscone West 3022.

#227, Gothic Now: Gothic Forms, is a round table featuring Drago Momcilovic, Adam Ochonicky, Jamieson Ridenhour, Aasta Thomas, and Joshua Tuttle. This discussion will be on Froday at 10:15a in Moscone West 3012.

On Friday night, we’ll be getting together at the Alchemist Bar and Lounge, a venue chosen almost entirely for its name, at 9p. We’re making a reservation, so please RSVP here or through the QR code on our dope AF flyer, attached.  The internet tells us that the Alchemist has a good vibe, is good for groups, has food, and is less than a mile from the convention site.

We have merch available here, and you can get any of the designs on clothing, computer/ electronics accessories, magnets, notebooks, and more! Proceeds go to fund travel for graduate students.

Follow us on Facebook or Twitter (once things settle down over there), and we look forward to seeing you in San Francisco! Stay spooky, friends and fiends.
