Caros colegas,

I’m writing to introduce myself as a candidate for the Global Portuguese Executive Committee. I am an Associate Professor of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Oregon, where I teach and research in modern and contemporary Caribbean, Lusophone African, and Latin American literature and culture. My book Forms of Disappointment (2019) examines Cuban and Angolan post-Cold War fiction in comparison. As a specialist in Lusophone African cultures, I would be invested in continuing to work on ways to make our scholarly conversations on Lusophone cultures as inclusive as possible and truly global in representation.
