    Eric Calderwood

    Dear colleagues,

I’m writing to remind you that my colleague Javier Irigoyen-García and I
are organizing a conference on representations of Iberian history in film
and television. The conference, titled “Reel Iberia,” will take place at
the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) on March 27-28, 2020. We
would be delighted to receive paper proposals from members of the Global
    Hispanophone Forum.

I’m also happy to announce that we have secured enough funding to offer
financial aid to some conference participants. In the spirit of making
this event accessible to a diverse range of participants, we have decided
to reserve the financial aid for graduate students, non-TT faculty, and
other participants who do not have access to research travel funds. I
would be grateful if you could share this information with graduate
    students and non-TT faculty.

If you are interested in participating, please send a 250-500 word abstract
along with a one-page CV by *September 1* to the conference organizers:

Eric Calderwood (Program in Comparative & World Literature):

Javier Irigoyen-García (Department of Spanish and Portuguese):

All of the paper proposals will be evaluated by an interdisciplinary
    organizing committee.

For more information about the conference, please see the following link:

I wish you all a happy and restful end to the summer.

    Eric Calderwood
