Just received my copy of the wonderful anthology edited by Akiko Tsuchiya and Billy Acree, Empire’s End: Transnational Connections in the Hispanic World (Vanderbilt, 2016). I think every single essay is relevant to Global Hispanophone issues. Take a look here:
The volume is dedicated to the memory of our colleague, Chris Schmidt-Nowara, whose sudden death last summer shocked and grieved us all. His essay, “Spanish Prisoners: War and Captivity in Spain’s Imperial Crisis,” is included in the volume.
