Storytelling as a Mode for Expressing Indigenous Rights
Inline image 1
Dr. Judy Bertonazzi, Guest Editor for ICIK E-News is seeking peer reviewers. Located at the Pennsylvania State University, the Interinstitutional Consortium for Indigenous Knowledge is part of a global network of indigenous knowledge resource centers, and it is the only global indigenous knowledge resource center in the United States. ICIK’s newsletter is published electronically in Spring, Summer, and Fall. The ICIK Newsletter is archived at http://icik.psu.edu.
Peer reviewers will review and comment on articles that address storytelling as a mode for affecting change in the pursuit of indigenous peoples’ rights in Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, India, Eurasian Arctic and the United States. We have article submissions that argue for such activist storytelling within the sub-themes of:
· Improved gender relations within indigenous communities
· Protection of the local environment/ecology
· Protection of indigenous community land rights
· Improved educational curriculum and outcomes for indigenous communities
· Preservation of cultural identity
Peer reviewers must be able to review one article that is approximately five-six double-spaced pages between the dates of April 1st-April 15th. Reviewers will be
acknowledged in the Fall 2014 Guest Edited issue of ICIK E-News.
If you are willing to serve as a peer reviewer, please e-mail the following information to Dr. Bertonazzi at bertonazzij@gmail.com no later than February 24th.
