Dear Colleagues,

The MLA annual conference is being held in Vancouver, Canada from January 8 to 11, 2015 and the program features a number of panels related to Asia. In honor of those representing Asia within the MLA, the UBC Institute of Asian Research and the Department of Asian Studies are delighted to host a reception from 8 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday, January 9 at our downtown campus, Robson Square.

All are welcome and MLA registration is not required. We have invited researchers from UBC and the Vancouver area for this opportunity to meet visiting scholars. We encourage all who are in the area to participate.

Please RSVP to Professor Christina Laffin at christina.laffin@ubc.ca by December 1 so we can ensure ample refreshments. If plans change after this date and you are able to come, please feel free to join us.
