The Committee on Information Technology will research, suggest, and help shape initiatives the MLA can take to meet the information and media needs of the membership and association. These initiatives—including policies, guidelines, projects, and learning opportunities for members—will vary according to needs and new developments in the field and address different aspects of technology that affect pedagogy, research, and institutional infrastructure and policy. Special attention will be given to the transformative role that technology plays in the humanities today. The staff and Executive Council may consult with the committee when appropriate on major technology initiatives that are of interest to MLA members and in responding to requests relating to technology that come from members or other organizations.
