    An International Conference on Hispanic Film and Fiction

    Organized by Portland State University,

    University of Oregon,

    and Oregon State University

    You are invited to submit an abstract, limited to 300 words, on any aspect of the

    relationship between Hispanic literature and film or hispanic film studies.

    NEW deadline (extended): 1st NOVEMBER 2018

    The main theme for Cine Lit 9 will be women

    (women filmmakers, representations of women,

    & sexism in the film industry, among other perspectives).

    Other Cine Lit themes include (but are not limited to):

    migrations, LGBTQIA themes and representations,

    cinematographic adaptations, cinema and ideology,

    historical memory film, marginalized voices in Hispanic cinema,

    new films and directors, Hispanic cinema in the US, indigenous cinema,

    cognitive approaches to film

    Call for Papers

    9-11 March, 2019, Portland, Oregon

    abstracts connected to the themes featured in cine lit 9 are particularly welcome.

    as well as panels organized following any of these formats:

    1) panel with 3 presenters (15 mins. each) + Q&A with audience (approx. 15 mins.)

    2) seminar with 3 presenters (12 mins. each) + discussant ( 10 mins.) + Q&A with audience (approx. 15 mins.)

    3) roundtable with 4-5 presenters (5 mins. each) + chair-led discussion among presenters (15-20 mins.)

    + Q&A with audience (approx. 15 mins.)

    presenters should share their papers, PowerPoint presentations, or notes

    with their co-panelists two weeks before the conference.

    Along with your abstract please provide

    title of paper, your name, a brief bio (70-100 words), academic affiliation, email,

    mailing address, and telephone number.
