    Hello all,

Let’s use this thread to gather tips for attending the MLA convention, especially for first-time attendees! For those who have attended previous conventions, what have you learned? What has helped you enjoy and make the most of your time at the convention?

Some years ago, Natalie Houston wrote a guest post for the MLA Convention blog, “Surviving and Thriving at the MLA Convention.” While some of the information may be outdated or specific to a previous convention, much of the advice looks still relevant, with sections on connecting with people, self care, attending and presenting at sessions, and tips for what to bring.

Perhaps you have some things to add or echo–or perhaps you have a question other attendees might be able to answer. Reply below (or, if you’re subscribed to receive “all email” for this group, you can simply send a reply from your e-mail inbox)!
