#MLA13: Regional Table
Day 2 begins at the Modern Language Association’s 128th convention in Boston, and so begins the Exhibit Hall, located on the second floor of the Hynes Convention in Back Bay.
Before or after you stop by the Hall, visit the Regional Table, just outside across from the Information tables. This year’s regional table has information about the divisions of the Modern Language Association: Midwest (M/MLA), Northeast (NEMLA), Pacific Ancient and Modern Language (PAMLA), Rocky Mountain (RMMLA), South Atlantic (SAMLA), and South Central (SCMLA).
While at the table, inquire about upcoming conferences, including the 70th Annual South Central MLA Conference, held this year in New Orleans! This year’s convention, “Masking and Unmasking the Subject,” will start October 3, with special session proposals due February 28, and abstracts to sessions due March 30. For more information, visit www.southcentralmla.org. Also ask about grants, awards, and prizes available through SCMLA—deadlines start as early as February 1.
Also read about the upcoming Rocky Mountain MLA Conference, starting October 10 in Vancouver, Washington. More information can be found at http://rmmla.wsu.edu.
Then the 85th Annual South Atlantic MLA Conference begins November 8, this year focusing on “Cultures, Contexts, Images, Texts: Making Meaning in Print, Digital, and Networked Worlds.” For more information, visit www.samla.memberclicks.net.
Finally, the 2014 Northeast MLA Conference will begin April 3, 2014 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Propose sessions by April 15, 2013, and submit abstracts by September 30, 2013. For more information, visit www.nemla.org.
So stop by the regional table this week, and be sure to check out the Exhibit Hall’s schedule of live presentations and other features.
