- Abstract:
- English abstract: A proposal to roughly classify acts of discourse into three broad categories, according to their stance vis à vis the broader cultural conversation in which they occur or to which they belong. An act of discourse (a move in a conversation, a published text, etc.) may either fully partake of the accepted conventions of the conversation in which it occurs, or it may reject the very grounds of that conversation and its conventions from a confrontational critical stance. Alternatively, it may strike a middle ground and build bridges between that conversation and other conversations, positing itself as an act of mediation between conversations, between disciplines, or between communities of discourse.
