    Abstract:
This article examines the prevalence as sexed violence (i.e. gender violence) in Donaldson's two major works, The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever and the Gap Sequence. I argue that Donaldson lay at the forefront of second wave theorizing about rape in the 1970s, but 3rd- and 4th-wave feminism gradually moved further away from Donaldson's humanist and existientialist literary concerns. Nonetheless, Donaldson's analysis of the male psychology of sexual abuse, particularly in the Gap sequence, helps address issues typically neglected by feminist theory.
