    Abstract:
Scholars have been publishing about the chronology of manuscripts of Goethe’s Faust for over 100 years, but individual research papers typically only handle a few of the more than 550 manuscripts that are witness of the genesis of the drama. In the context of a new digital critical edition of Faust (http://faustedition.net/), this presentation describes a graph-based model to aggregate thousands of individual chronological assertions from research literature. It focuses on specific challenges the data poses, like contradictory assertions and witnesses that have been worked on at separate occasions, and introduces some variations of the basic graph model to tackle those challenges.
