- Abstract:
- Handouts the author developed for classes in Japan requiring papers in English, from regular undergraduate EFL classes to graduate school international classes. Page 1 A) Outline of an Academic Paper: necessary elements, color-coded to show connections between parts of a paper; and B) Abstracts: often confused with introductions, need to stand alone apart from the paper. Page 2) Paper Organization Checklist: can be used by teachers, writers or their peers to make sure papers are well organized. Page 3) How to Research and Write a Semester Paper: various advice for novice English writers, with a few difficult terms like plagiarism annotated in Japanese.
