    Abstract:
The advocacy and resistance to land concession in Liberia especially over the last decade of a massive wave of land-grab brought increased local and international attention to the problematic nature of the land governance system in Liberia, the consequences for the general governance and continued stability of the state, and the necessity for urgent land reform. However, it would take the unrelenting efforts of Civil Society over several years to pressure the government into reforming its land governance regimes. This paper traces such efforts, the challenges thereto, as well as the response of the Liberian government.
