    Abstract:
____________________________________________________ Samuel Beckett's novels are highly self-conscious and reflexive, not least in the way they internalize and fictionalize the strategies of reception and interpretation which readers use in approaching classical fiction. This article studies the various ways in which Beckett uses narratee figures to orientate (or disorientate) his reader, and thereby extends the boundaries of fiction to encompass the margins of the literary text, its reception and interpretation.
