- Abstract:
- The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), representing 37 tribal colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, proposes to collaborate with the National Museum of the American Indian, the National Museum of Natural History, the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Indiana University Community Grids Laboratory, and a pilot group of Tribal Colleges to develop innovative strategies for using digital technology to make cultural material in major museums and archives available to American Indian people in more meaningful ways, facilitating locally-determined educational and research purposes.
- Notes:
- The collaboration among the Autry National Center/Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the National Museum of the American Indian, the National Anthropological Archives, and the National Museum of Natural History to federate collection databases focused on Native American collections and share the data in new ways with tribal colleges and community members.
