Elizabeth Gardner is a PhD Candidate at Louisiana State University. Her research area includes southern women writers of the 20th and 21st centuries. In particular, Elizabeth is interested in depictions of community in these texts. Elizabeth is currently president of the Society for the Study of Southern Literature’s Emerging Scholars Organization, and she begins work this fall as LSU’s University Writing Program Assistant Director.

Currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Mississippi. My current project focuses on the influence of African American culture in transnational multi-ethnic blues literature. My research and teaching interests include Anglo-North American literatures of the 20th century, African American literature, US Southern literature, and film studies.
