- Abstract:
- This study is an attempt to explore the status of interstate migrant workers in India. The survey was conducted in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and North Tamil Nadu states. A total of 995 interstate migrant workers were interviewed. The study brought out the socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of the interstate migrant workers, their migration pattern, level of awareness about the provisions ensured by various migrant workers and labour laws, the level of adherence, the impact of migration, viz. perceived mental health status, and quality of life.
